WESTCHESTER- Today George Latimer announced his endorsement by the Transport Workers Union Local 100. The union represents approximately 41,000 workers in the Metropolitan area transportation system.
“I am honored to receive the support of the hard working men and women of the Transport Workers Union. These men and women provide a crucial service to Westchester County. They are the men and women who help move people from place to place whereby keeping our economy running, promoting tourism in Westchester, and providing access to essential goods and services in Westchester County,” said Latimer
John Samuelsen, International President of the Transport Workers Union said, “We are proud to endorse George Latimer for County Executive because of his pragmatism and track record as a public servant. The current administration has underfunded investments in transportation and transportation infrastructure causing concern for the future of Westchester County’s economy. We know George will work with us to come up with solutions to better serve the people of Westchester County”.
The endorsement by the Transport Workers Union adds to Latimer’s growing momentum, coming on the heels of strong wins in the Democratic and Reform primaries and adding to endorsements from CSEA, CWA, 32BJ SEIU, RWDSU and the AFL-CIO.
