George is a staunch supporter of a woman’s right to choose when it comes to abortion. In Albany, George has been a champion and cosponsor of the Reproductive Health Act and the Comprehensive Contraception Coverage Act. These bills would ensure access to reproductive health services, including abortions and contraceptives. As a member of the State Senate’s Democratic Policy Group, George has been an advocate for expanded child-care subsidies to help working parents. Additionally, he would make sure that the Office for Women, which works to stop domestic violence as a part of its broader mission to ensure equal rights for all, is given the resources it needs.
These are among the reasons why Latimer was endorsed by three major women’s organizations, WCLA PAC, National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund PAC, and NOW-Westchester in September. These organizations agree that Westchester can’t afford the backward views of Astorino when it comes to reproductive rights and health care, affordable child-care and equal pay.
